Leading a team as Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for all operations aspects and KPI achievement within your product value stream, including safety, quality, complete & on-time, efficiency, optimized staffing and training of direct labor production personnel to achieve our product demand and quality requirements. You’ll have direct responsibility as a process owner to lead, motivate, inspire and coordinate multifunctional operations support groups including from Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Continuous Improvement, and Human Resources professionals to help you and your team attain and sustain the highest levels of operational excellence. 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Be a champion and role model for safety, environmental and, health and safety strategies, policies, practices, and behaviors. 
  • Plan, and schedule and anticipate effective production activities and managing/supervising production operations.
  • Ensure all products meet our quality standards.
  • Drive and sustain cost-effective, efficient production through lean manufacturing.
  • Build, develop, sustain, and retain a high performing team.         
  • Actively drive and support our continuous improvement philosophy and culture
  • Collaborate with other Production Management to flex resources based on daily production conditions
  • Communicate effectively across the organization to ensure alignment with goals and initiatives.
  • “Manage by Facts” by maintaining effective visual data communication tools
  • AAdvise on the floor design, configuration/layout, size, specific equipment/tools, and capabilities to optimize efficiency while controlling/reducing cost.
  • Be a champion and role model for environmental, health and safety strategies, policies, practices, and behaviors.
  • Liaise with cross-functional partners to anticipate, mitigate and/or prevent any probable delays.
  • Build, develop, sustain, and retain a high performing team.
  • Promote a positive, healthy, and energized work environment.
  • Perform basic managerial responsibilities regarding people (e.g., hiring/retention, developing, training, performance reviews, attendance/absenteeism, corrective action, etc.)
  • Actively lead, participate, and/or engage in initiatives and projects aimed at improving safety, quality, complete and on-time production, culture, retention, 5S, and lean manufacturing.
  • Lead, participate, and present in management meetings.
  • Lead/host factory tours for internal/external customers, as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Management, Logistics, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing production experience
  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience with a mid- to large-size manufacturing company.
  • Data-driven management experience utilizing standard tools and metrics (e.g., TPS)
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills following DMAIC or PDCA structure
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and active listening skills 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, detailed planning, and project management skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and quality programs, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities to eliminate/reduce Muri, Mura and Muda.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Management, Logistics or related discipline.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training or certification
  • Knowledge of AX (Microsoft)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Knowledge of Micro Vellum and CAD
  • 3+ years wood working experience and familiarity with CNC machines and other automated industrial wood cutting, milling and edge banding equipment
