Mgr, Territory Sales - Mid Atlantic

Position Summary:

A Territory Sales Manager is a “Player/Coach”. They are responsible for sales in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. They are responsible for building and managing our sales team in that territory.  They are also responsible for handling some of the accounts (dealers, A&D, end users) within the territory on a day to day basis.  Finally, they are responsible for executing the territory business plan to help us grow revenue and build our brands within that territory.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Help the Regional Sales Director make hire/fire decisions on the territory sales team.
  • Work with the Regional Sales Director to build the territory business plan that enables revenue growth and building of our brands in the market.
  • Drive communication and teamwork amongst the employees on the territory sales team, in order to maximize productivity.
  • Responsible for handling certain accounts (Dealer, A&D and End Users) as appropriate and in coordination with other teammates account coverage in the territory, on a day to day basis.
  • If showroom is present in the territory, TSM must make sure showroom is kept in working condition and utilized to maximize ROI on that tool.
  • Will be involved in onboarding and training new team members within the territory.
  • Responsible for ultimately figuring out what kind of team we need in the territory, what accounts each person on the team handles.
  • All territory team members report to this TSM.
  • Define and develop the brand attributes and differentiate brand within the industry.
  • Provide product training and education to Dealers and Reps.
  • Gather market intelligence and competitive information, and share with other departments at Exemplis as appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in the furniture industry within the territory applying for, preferably in a sales role.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years sales management experience is preferred.
  • Industry experience working for another furniture manufacturer, dealer or A&D firm.
  • Must be self-motivated, with an extremely positive attitude and be a “team first” player.

 

Working Conditions:

  • May need to work out of an office in their home, if a showroom is not located within the territory.
  • Will spend much time on the road and traveling to visit customers, so must be comfortable with regular travel via car, plane, etc.
  • High energy, fast paced environment .Need to be flexible with your schedule at times and ready to react quickly to emerging business opportunities.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Job requires handling of sample chairs regularly, setting up and tearing down for industry shows occasionally.
  • Will require extensive travel in car, within the territory, on a daily basis.
