Sup, Warehouse

Position Summary:

Responsible for all segments of the physical functions of materials control; including internal transportation, receiving, storage, retrieval, and inventory control across two locations.  Duties include the accuracy of inventory records, management of the warehouse facility, personnel management, and a broad range of administrative responsibilities. The job holder interacts closely with the Operations, Procurement, and Transportation groups.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Ensures continuous process improvement & high quality services towards internal customers through the development and deployment of processes and procedures
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Controls costs through productivity of personnel.
  • Promotes inventory accuracy by implementing and monitoring a cycle count program; reconciling with data storage system
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Recommends Warehouse and material handling equipment needs and replacement
  • Manages the Kan Ban replenishment process from the warehouse to the assembly plant, and from certain vendors to the warehouse
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Ensures Super Market is well stocked and not out of parts.  Feeds the assembly lines continuously based on the day’s production schedule.
  • Coordinates with the Warehouse Supervisor to request restocking of parts for Super Market.  Also, works with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure parts are available for the following day.
  • Notifies buyers when product replenishment is required (low inventory).  Also, provides feedback on product quality and packaging.

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

  • 7-10 years of warehouse management experience.
  • 7-10 years experience working receiving and logistics
  • A proven track record of managing people, providing exceptional customer service, and implementing cost savings and efficiencies improvements
  • Experience managing a Warehouse Management System
  • Ability to hire, lead, motivate and mentor personnel
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Bi lingual (English/Spanish) a major plus
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules required
