Position Summary:

The Engineering Change Control Supervisor plays a key role in enabling product innovation and operational excellence by leading the execution and continuous improvement of the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. This role ensures engineering changes are implemented accurately and efficiently while minimizing impact to manufacturing, inventory, and customer experience.

You will supervise the Change Coordination team and partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and the PLM/PDM Manager to strengthen data integrity, improve ECO cycle time, and drive consistent, high-quality change execution across the organization.

This hybrid role blends team leadership (approximately 70%) with hands-on change coordination (approximately 30%), offering cross-functional visibility and the opportunity to influence how engineering change is executed enterprise-wide. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Change Control Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional Change Review Board (CRB) meetings to evaluate and advance Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Review and validate change requests for completeness, feasibility, and business impact across manufacturing, inventory, schedule, and customer considerations.
  • Ensure change documentation is accurate, clear, and aligned with established governance standards.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to strengthen workflow performance and overall process effectiveness.

Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Supervise and prioritize work for the Change Coordination team, providing coaching and clear performance expectations.
  • Establish standard work and quality benchmarks to ensure consistent execution.
  • Train team members and stakeholders on ECO processes and documentation requirements.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve team effectiveness.

Product Data & Implementation Integrity

  • Ensure accurate, controlled updates to BOMs and related product data within PLM/ERP systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support inventory integrity, order accuracy, and downstream operational execution.
  • Coordinate priorities with the BOM Analyst and support effective use of offshore resources.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor ECO cycle time, throughput, and quality metrics to identify risks and bottlenecks.
  • Drive initiatives that improve first-pass quality and overall change execution efficiency.
  • Support automation and system enhancements to increase visibility and reduce manual effort.

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field or 5+ years equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering change control, product data management, or a related operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of PLM/PDM and ERP systems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, lead structured processes, and drive team accountability.

Preferred Qualification

  • Prior formal supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar workflow/document control systems.
  • Background supporting complex product lifecycles or cross-functional change review boards.
