Position Summary:

Use your collaborative skills to lead an interdepartmental team down the path of perfect change implementation while using your technical skills to keep us on the cutting edge of PDM & CAD technology.  Learn and implement existing processes to safeguard the accuracy of our critical technical information while working with key stakeholders to continually develop, document and apply process improvements. This hybrid role requires three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday) onsite at our Cypress, CA headquarters, with the remaining two days remote.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Own the Engineering Change and Document Control process for our entities across the globe.
  • Lead the interdepartmental Change Review Board team in the process of reviewing and approving changes in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Establish best practices in terms of CAD database document flow and retention.  Optimize folder structure and minimize workflows
  • Ensure the continual accuracy of PDM and ERP data by developing, training and auditing processes and procedures
  • Administrate SolidWorks EPDM and the CAD database.  Establish and control licenses and user permissions.
  • Work with inside and outside entities to install and train on software and version updates
  • Coordinate the implementation of changes with various departments throughout the companies as well as suppliers.  Cost and disruption should be minimized while maximizing the accuracy of BOM’s.
  • Collaborate with Engineering personnel to document and deliver supplier reviews based on departmental measurables.  Clearly present the reviews to global suppliers and coach them on improvement.
  • Assume ownership and responsibility for the integrity of information and data entering PDM and other change information locations.  Regularly perform audits and resolve incomplete or inconsistent data issues.  

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in SolidWorks and EPDM administration
  • 3+ years’ experience in Change Control
  • 1+ year experience in cross functional team leadership
  • Ongoing record of certifications and training in version releases of above software’s
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Previous project management history

 

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment
  • Occasional nights or weekend work may be required

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional light lifting required
