Logistics Analyst

Position Summary:

The Logistics Analyst supports the logistics team through data analysis, reporting, system management, and process improvement. Responsibilities include analyzing transportation and shipping data, preparing reports and presentations, managing month-end logistics accounting, developing AI agents, and overseeing projects. This role contributes to building an efficient, accurate, flexible, customer-focused, and cost-effective logistics operation that embodies operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain logistics and freight KPI reporting; prepare and present daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Manage and maintain the Transportation Management System (TMS) and transportation tracking system, including carrier contracts, pricing agreements, pool point data, customer order routing, lane assignments, and the carrier audit and pay process.
  • Ensure TMS and shipment tracking data integrity by enforcing data governance and system protocols.
  • Maintain carrier records, including pricing agreements, insurance, and other compliance documentation.
  • Lead and manage annual/bi-annual RFP processes for Truckload, LTL and Small Parcel.
  • Provide analytics on pricing results from RFP and recommendations
  • Reconcile and Manage carrier payables and aging reports to sustain strong relationships with logistics partners and ensure timeliness of accounting activities
  • Analyze transportation spend using TMS, carrier, and payables data; identify cost trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead cost-reduction, process- and carrier performance improvement projects.
  • Track and report carrier on-time delivery and performance metrics.
  • Support continuous development of TMS and tracking system capabilities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist with shipment routing, carrier selection, and scheduling as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual transportation budget.
  • Learn and apply AI agent creation skills to automate and enhance productivity, accuracy, and speed in logistics processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Understanding of transportation or warehouse practices and principles.
  • Experience with TMS, WMS, Power BI or ERP systems.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in domestic and/or international logistics or distribution.
  • Hands-on experience in related functions such as receiving, warehousing, shipping, sourcing, supply chain, demand planning, or manufacturing.
  • Experience building KPI dashboards or financial/operational scorecards
  • Knowledge of freight payables
  • 2+ years’ Data Analyst experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in operations and data analytics; experience within transportation, shipping or receiving a plus.
