Dir, Program Management Office

Position Summary:

At Exemplis, we are working to bring custom, build to order furniture to offices, hospitals, and homes across the country.  We are currently looking for a Director of PMO to help execute on our agressive new product introduction (NPI) plan.  Under general supervision of the CEO, the PMO Director works to build our project management team, processes and tools. 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • In partnership with the leadership team, define the NPI project roadmap for the organization; contribute to organization goal setting and prioritization in support of business strategies.
  • Rapidly assess current processes and constraints to facilitate the development of a vision for optimal PMO processes
  • Define and lead the creation and adoption of NPI processes or projects, portfolio management systems, and governance . Leverage industry recognized best practices, methodologies, and techniques to define and develop a set of customized processes for Exemplis.
  • Ensure rigorous data-driven analysis for prioritization of complex operational decisions
  • Responsible for providing executive reporting & presentations that communicate the direction, significant milestones and results of the continuous improvement activities.
  • Evangelize and communicate continuous improve activities across the enterprise and leverage this awareness to build support and ensure effectiveness.
  • Provide successful stakeholder relationship management across all departments
  • Supervise program managers, project managers and project management associates.
  • Develop a communication plan, which may include managing expectation of C-level leaders.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive program management leadership experience, including a minimum of 3+ years working on NPI or in an Engineering environment
  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA/Masters Degree preferred
  • Familiarity with lean, six sigma or other operational excellence tools
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP®) or other PMO certification a plus
