Pattern Maker

Position Summary:

The Pattern Maker is responsible to create accurate patterns for prototypes and revisions for bulk production of premium consumer backpacks, bags, and luggage, built in North America. This role will also provide support in making pattern templates, ensuring accuracy of dimensions and fitness, along with Tech Pack preparation.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Create patterns for commercialization of consumer products, both manually and with auto-CAD software.
• Translate design sketches and/or samples into pattern creation or manipulation.
• Make templates and simple jigs for sewing operations production.
• Prepare Tech Packs and production operations-oriented product Bible.
• Assist in cutting fabrics/accessories/materials for use in product development.
• Design ideal production markers to optimize textile yields.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience pattern making for backpacks/bags.
• A deep operational understanding of bag/backpack construction, fabrics, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience using Auto-CAD.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with leather bags, luggage, and/or upholstery pattern making.
• Strong creative and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well with cross-function teams.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively both on the shop floor and office environments. Must be detail oriented, especially regarding aesthetics and functionality
• Sense of urgency and comfort working within tight deadlines.
