Load Planning Coordinator Sr

Position Summary:

The Load Planning Coordinator is responsible for utilizing the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS) in the development of optimized daily load plans for all outbound customer orders that meet company and customer delivery expectations, Transportation Department cost and tactical objectives, support the company’s Shipping operation and work directly with carriers on capacity availability.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes the company’s TMS system to generate optimized outbound load plans for all daily outbound customer orders and develops outbound order consolidations to meet savings targets.
  • Schedule carrier loads to ensure equipment capacity and availability in order to meet operations daily schedule and customer delivery requirements.
  • Align transportation plan to manufacturing operations daily schedule.
  • Verifies transit delays of all outbound truckload shipments and reports issues to internal teams.
  • Issues daily shipping reports as required.
  • Tenders loads to Transportation carriers.
  • Coordinates carrier pick-up and drop-off of equipment.
  • Utilizes SharePoint to review and confirm AB (assembled and bagged) shipping requirements.
  • Updates carrier spreadsheets as required.
  • Maintains load planning records and metrics to support Transportation department KPI’s.
  • Conduct analysis on various aspects of Logistics department and provides recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s to evaluate effectiveness of the load plan, optimization of loads and carrier adherence to plan.
  • Analyze carrier departure time, transit time to optimize delivery to customer
  • Provides Customer Experience department with quotes for AB shipping.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in domestic and global logistics/transportation
  • 1+ years experience with transportation management systems, demand planning, production/scheduling planning or transportation load planning


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Excel pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, and graphing/charting) 
  • Results oriented with strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent organizational, time planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Load planning experience in manufacturing environment


Working conditions:

  • Evening and weekend work if required.
  • Requires some work in Shipping operations in non-temperature controlled facility.
